Gentle British comedy with Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna as a couple who think they have hit the big time when they inherit a cinema, not knowing it's a run-down dump run by three ageing eccentrics. A charming slice of 50's cinema with terrific comic turns from Peter Sellers and Margaret Rutherford.

Impressive costume drama set in India in 1947 when the British were handing the country its independence and the new Viceroy, Earl Mountbatten, and his wife would see the transition, not realising they were going to be caught up in a country divided. Terrific attention to detail about a fascinating period of history. The "Romeo and Juliet" romance added on sadly doesn't quite work.

Robert Altman's surreal, dream-like tale of a young girl who enters into another woman's life and slowly starts to take it over. Sissy Spacek plays the girl with a superb performance from Shelley Duvall as the over-confident woman who is almost invisible to others. Strange, hypnotic and with an ear-piercing score, it's challenging but worth the tackle.

Delightful British comedy with Hugh Grant playing against type as a womanising rich kid who finds his life turned upside down when a fatherless boy enters into his life. Based on Nick Hornby's book, this sweet-natured tale has plenty of decent laughs and a terrific score by Badly Drawn Boy. Haven't seen it for a while, still just as enjoyable.

Terrific modern horror thriller with a touch of satire and social commentary. Taken to meet the parents of his girlfriend, a black man soon finds himself in a world that doesn't sit right and it becomes apparent that all is not well in this household. Gripping, witty and smart, this will have you gasping for breath from the shocks and surprises.Immensely entertaining.

Fascinating documentary about Rodriguez, a 70's folk singer who made two albums that flopped and then, as legend has it, committed suicide on stage. In South Africa, the singer was a superstar and two fans decide to find out the truth about the man, finding that the legends are false. A perfect example of the power of the documentary.

Another early entry from the Carry On team have a scaled-down cast with only regulars Kenneth Williams and Charles Hawtrey on board for this romp around the oceans during the war against the Spanish Armada. Bernard Cribbins and Juliet Mills enjoy the silliness of the script which isn't as innuendo filled as usual but has plenty of gentle British laughs to enjoy.

A glorious, crowd-pleasing live action revamp of the 1990 Disney classic animation, with Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast. Big, lavish musical numbers bring a smile to the face, and although enormously entertaining, the CGI lets the side down with a distracting beast. Luke Evans and Josh Gad steal the show as Gaston and his camp companion, Le Fou. Delightful.

This first sequel to the B-movie The Fast & The Furious is lacking the lunacy that has filled the later sequels and looks rather flat and boring in comparison. Paul Walker returns (less Vin Diesel) to take on a Miami drugs lord with the help from Tyrese Gibson and some fast cars. John Singleton directs and it's hard to believe that this is the same man who gave us Boyz N The Hood.

Perfectly charming tale from India, about a lunchbox that is delivered to the wrong person, triggering a long distance friendship between a lonely mother and an accountant on the verge of retiring. Nicely played, it wins you over with its simplicity with the two leads oozing charisma, while the unseen Auntie from upstairs almost steals the film. Delightful.

Plot wise this might be a mess and the warblings of Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood may not be up to the standard of other musicals yet there is something extremely fun watching two of the screen's hardest men singing about Wandrin' Stars and talking to trees. The energy from all is infectious and it's a perfect way to pass a Sunday afternoon.
