Classic musical drama about the ups and downs of a Broadway production with an ill director, a temperamental lead actress and a naive newcomer. This realistic look at theatre life includes the now famous 20-minute show routine directed by Busby Berkley. With plenty of biting, sassy dialogue, this was the film that saved Warner Bros and it's just as good now as it was in the 30's.

Blake Edwards' celebrated sex comedy still manages to create a smile as Dudley Moore goes through the mid-life crisis and finds he has fallen for newly-wed Bo Derek. A heady mix of slapstick and adult conversation, it may feel slightly dated due to Henry Mancini's easy listening soundtrack but thanks to Moore's comic timing, the laughs are still there.

Related more to the western than to comic book superhero movies, this swansong for the Wolverine is less about huge, colourful set pieces and more about a man coping with age and forced to become a protector. Hugh Jackman has lived as Wolverine for 17 years and so now is allowed to really become the character. A bold, brutal blistering bow-out that takes the superhero movie to another level.

Outstanding film in which we have six tales of revenge. Wildly imaginative with an unbelievable streak of jet black humour, we get tales of road rage, hatred against parking and a wedding that goes badly wrong. Each tale is as shocking, surprising and brilliantly executed. One of my favourite movies of 2015, it has now enter the realms of one of my favourite films of all time.

Early entry from the Carry On team that gives a good indication on the direction the series would be going. Workaholic Sid James runs a cab company who finds unexpected competition. Very dated in its depiction of women but the energy of the cast and some cheap laughs still makes it watchable, even if the sexual politics are a little dubious.

Wes Anderson's bizarre journey through India as three warring brothers travel a train to find themselves after their father's death. The plot is a mess, the events are surreal yet the performances are fun and you can't help but be drawn in by Anderson's keen eye and his unique filmmaking style. Not his best by a long shot but still far more interesting than most directors.

Fascinating story of the man who ruthlessly took away a dream from two brothers and turned it into his own personal empire. Michael Keaton storms it as Ray Kroc in this tale of one man's American dream and how he would do anything to achieve it. Somehow it seems more relevant now than I guess the filmmakers thought it would be.
