While not half as strong as the original, this sequel does throw up some interesting twists and new characters that make the film still a fun ride. With a Russian seeking revenge, a political campaign to discredit Stark Industries and a new PR with a hidden secret, Tony Stark must face all this while trying to keep himself alive. The plot is contrived but its always enjoyable seeing Sam Rockwell in a semi-evil role.

Hammer horror with a twist. A young, wheelchair-bound woman returns to her former family home after her father marries another woman, only to discover her father is not there. She then starts seeing him but no one believes her. As a slight thriller with Susan Strasberg as the woman in a film that could be compared to Gaslight, except the twist at the end which no one can predict. Perfectly fine but as good as some of the more camp horrors the company produced.

Once you have got over the leisurely approach to storytelling, this coming-of-age drama is a delight, with Saoire Ronan as a girl longing to escape Sacramento to go to school in New York, yet has one more year at high school, so has to make the best of a bad thing. Ronan is superb as is Laurie Metcalf as her mother in an impressive debut for Greta Gerwin. Funny, sweet and touching, this is one of the best tales of a female crossing over into adulthood.

Steven Spielberg directs this tale of how the Washington Post, a newspaper about to hit the markets with a quietly spoken woman publisher and a hard-nosed editor, came upon the story of how the US Government had lied about the Vietnam war for 30 years. Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks, in their first film together, are superb in a film that starts off slow but becoming gripping and intriguing in its second half and makes for a nice companion piece to All The President's Men.

The origins movie for Captain America sees meek and feeble Steve Rogers desperately wanting to join the war effort and being picked for a medical experiment that turns him into a muscle-bound superhero to take on the Red Skull. Chris Evans has loads of fun creating the character that has become the leader of The Avengers. Not the best of the Marvel films but it has loads to enjoy.

An absolutely extraordinary tragic-comedy about a grieving mother who rents three billboards to provoke the police into action after her daughter is murdered. Written and directed by Frances McDormand gives the best performance of her career since Fargo in a film that has you laughing one moment, then crying the next. Superb support from both Woody Harrelson and Sam Rockwell makes this a must-see experience. Blew me away!
